Dam break: more Eulerian two-phase flow
Problem description
A contained volume of water is free to collapse under gravity and flow into a baffle and continer walls.
Physics and modelling
The mathematical model used in this simulation is the two-phase Eulerian model, where the phase-to-phase interaction is modelled. A phase fraction a \special {t4ht= (0 > a > 1 \special {t4ht=) describes the state at all points in the column: 0 corresponding to air; 1 to water.
OpenFOAM solver
interFoam.
Animations
The animation shows the volume of water collapse, strike the baffle and slosh inside the domain.
