Our development costs are low because: our development team can work efficiently and quickly because OpenFOAM is modular and well organised; and, the use of modern programming techniques (C++/Java) and good programming practices means there are very little debugging work to do.

We make further savings by supplying everything - the software and documentation - via the internet. Regular upgrades are provided free, all documentation is available both online (updated often) and in PDF format in the software release.

The savings in development costs and other overheads means that we can channel the licence fee towards things that directly benefit the user, primarily high-quality support and training.

OpenFOAM provides a general environment that can cover all the simulation needs for design, research and development, thereby reducing the cost of purchasing a multitude of software products.
